Epiphytes

Epiphyte – a plant that grows on another plant but is not parasitic, such as the numerous ferns, bromeliads, air plants, and orchids growing on tree trunks in tropical rain forests

Back in January when I was bumming around Chiapas I went to an orchid/epiphyte conservatory with my newly made friend, Sheena. The place was run by a quirky and eccentric American ex-pat, and we spent a nice afternoon there.

Ever since then, I’ve been seeing epiphytes everwhere I go!

And more epiphytes at Cerro Negro:

Go find some epiphytes of your own. They’re kind of cool.
